I've been mildly obsessed with all things Brendon Urie lately - and this piano version of "This Is Gospel" is really great. He wrote this song for one of the original P!atD members, the drummer Spencer Smith, who has been struggling with addiction and alcohol and has been on hiatus from the band for a few years now. Makes this version even more gut-wrenching if you think about the meaning behind it.
This is off their 4th album, "Too Weird To Live, To Rare To Die", for which they have been on The Gospel Tour over the last few months. Definitely a better album than the 2nd or 3rd ones, which is probably due to the fact that Urie and Smith are the only original members left of the band..the other two wanted to go in a different direction (ahem, albums 2 and 3). Glad P!atD went back to their vaudeville roots for #4.
